Numerical Simulation of Rock Breaking by Single Worn Cutting Tooth

The cutting teeth on PDC bits have been working under wear for a long time, but the understanding of their rock breaking mechanism is not deep enough. In this paper, influence key factors such as height, passivation type, invasion depth, lithology, rake angle and tooth diameter load distribution edge, well equivalent plastic strain form section, are investigated by means numerical simulation. results show that same parameters, with increase stress concentration at both ends edge obvious, in middle section decreases fluctuation increases; worn gear diameter, an inclination 15° uniform, while 10° drop obvious; Compared other two types wear, conventional longer effective length, larger more uniform better effect; According to relevant simulation results, it believed design parameters will affect size process teeth, then trend process. addition, observing after cutting, found cuttings action new semicircular blocky, condition flake. It likely large blocky breaking, effect than teeth.
